Glimpses of Daughters of Mary
17-12-1933 | Priestly ordination of founder, Rev.Fr.Joseph Kuzhijalil.

28-06-1934 | Fr.Joseph Kuzhijalil arrived in Trivandrum according to the invitation of His Grace Mar Ivanios.
|
29-06-1934 | Fr. Kuzhijalil was sent to Marthandam and settled in a rented house.
|
30-06-1934 | Started mission work by celebrating the divine Liturgy in the rented house on St .Paul’s day.
|
21-08-1934 | 38 families were baptized and established Marthandam parish.
|
08-06-1937 | Aleyamma Kallarakal and her niece Mary Vadakken visited Marthandam.
|
28-04-1938 | Aleyamma and Mary left home for Marthondom to found the congregation.
|
29-04-1938 | Aleyamma and Mary visited Mar Ivanios.
|
08-05-1938 | The founding day of the Congregation of the Daughters of Mary. Laying the foundation stone of mother house.
|
04-06-1939 | Fr.Joseph got the order of approval for founding the congregation of the Daughters of Mary from His Holiness Pious 11th.
|
04-06-1939 | The newly built convent building was blessed and celebrated the divine liturgy by His Grace Mar Ivanious. The first members entered the novitiate and started living there.

04-06-1940 | The first profession of the first members –Sr.Mary, Sr.Agnes and Sr.Theresa.

08-06-0940 | His Grace Mar Ivanios appointed Sr.Mary as the first superior of the congregation. Mother Basim returns to SIC convent Nalanchira.

27-10-1952 | First General chapter –Mother Mary Kallarackal was elected as the first Superior General.
|
15-01-1957 | Fr. Elsevoose was appointed as the canonical visitor of the congregation.

15-02-1958 | The silver Jubilee celebration of founder father and the blessing of the grotto-‘Lourds Matha’.
|
01-05-1959 | Rev.Sr.Margaret DM was elected as the 2nd Superior General.
|
14-07-1962 | First death in the congregation.

23,24-05-1963 | Blessing of Kristu Raja Parish and the silver jubilee of the Congregation.
|
12-09-1963 | Silver Jubilee celebration of the first members’ commitment.
|
19-11-1965 | Rev.Sr.Scholastica DM was elected as the 3rd Superior General.

15-07-1968 | Congregation was affiliated to the Franciscan.
|
27-12-1968 | Renewal general chapter-Renewal of the constitution according to Vatican II.
|
28-12-1968 | Rev.Sr.Monica DM was elected as the 4th Superior General.

20-06-1969 | A common Juniorate house established in Aluva.

30-09-1971 | DM congregation was registered as a Charitable society

18-05-1972 | Rev.Sr.Monica DM was elected as the 5th Superior General.

14-04-1974 | Began to use the changed vestments of the congregation

19-05-1975 | Rev.Sr.Veronica DM was elected as the 6th Superior General.

27-01-1978 | Rev. Father Founder was honored with the position of Monsignor.

12-09-1978 | The reformed constitution was printed for the first time and was distributed to the members.

01-01-1979 | Rev.Sr.Immaculate DM was elected as the 7th Superior General.

18-01-1982 | Rev.Sr.Immaculate DM was elected as the 8th Superior General.

23-08-1983 | The sad demise of Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph Kuzhinjalil.

24-05-1984 | The establishment and blessing of the Generalate at Kudappanakunnu, Trivandrum.

29-12-1984 | Rev.Sr.Felicitta DM was elected as the 9th Superior General.

30-07-1985 | Death of Rev Mother Mary Kallarackal, the Co-foundress.

19-08-1986 | Expiry of Sr. Theresa, the 3rd founding member of the congregation.

28-04-1987 | Blessing of “Thabor”, the Prayer House.

24-05-1987 | Official inauguration of 2 provinces, at Marthandom and Pongummood

15-10-1988 | Pope John Paul 2nd approved the decree of raising DM congregation into Pontifical Status

11-01-1989 | Official declaration of the Pontifical status of the Congregation.
|
11-09-1989 | Blessing of Msgr. Joseph Kuzhinjalil Memorial School building and Releasing of his Biography.

29/12/1990 | Rev.Sr.Immaculate DM was elected as the 10th Superior General.

30/12/1996 | Rev.Sr.Felix DM was elected as the 11th Superior General.

20-05-1998 | Mother Mary’s Birth Centenary; diamond Jubilee Celebration of the congregation

22-08-2002 | DM Congregation was divided into 4 provinces and 2 Vice provinces.

06-12-2002 | The Constitution which was renewed in the light of the Cannons of the Eastern Church and ‘Vitae Consecratae’ was approved.

31/12/2002 | Rev.Sr.Francina DM was elected as the 12th Superior General.

23-07-2005 | Amala Region was officially declared as Vice Province . |
23-08-2005 | Kristuraja vice province was officially declared as Province. |
25-04-2007 | Laying of the Foundation Stone of the Contemplation Wing ‘Alverna’.

08-05-2007 | Inauguration of the ‘Sapthati’ of the foundation of the Congregation and the blessing of ‘Sthapakasannidhi’.
